Bowling Green · Venue Guide
Getting married at The Potter Farm.
The Potter Farm is a historic 1886 barn on 20 acres, about 10 minutes south of Bowling Green, with gardens, patios, and ceremony sites indoors and out. It's open April through November.
Overview
What makes The Potter Farm special.
The barn holds up to 300 guests, and ceremonies can be outdoors on the grounds or inside the barn. Two patios, an outdoor fireplace, a fountain, and gardens give plenty of spots for cocktail hour and photos.
A bridal cottage and grooms' quarters give each side a place to get ready, with overnight stays included in the weekend package. The barn has no air conditioning; it's cooled with fans and evaporative coolers.
Couples hire a licensed, insured caterer (there's no kitchen on site) and a licensed bartender for alcohol. The venue says plainly that it isn't a wedding coordinator and strongly encourages couples to have someone coordinating the day. It publishes rental pricing on its website.
Planner's Tips
Planning a The Potter Farm wedding.
Plan for the season
The barn has no air conditioning, so for summer dates plan shade, fans, cold drinks, and an evening timeline; spring and fall are especially comfortable.
Choose a caterer who works without a kitchen
With no kitchen on site, pick a caterer experienced with off-site prep and holding equipment.
Have a coordinator in place
The venue doesn't coordinate events, so someone needs to run setup, vendors, and the timeline. That's exactly what day-of coordination covers.
Use the weekend package
Overnight stays in the cottage and quarters make the rehearsal and morning-of much simpler.
